Repeating patterns using Adobe Illustrator

To better acquaint myself with Adobe Illustrator, I played around with my Wacom Intuos 4 tablet to create a repeating pattern. 

What ended up on my computer screen was a dreadfully weird looking man-face. I imagine he works in a cubicle with bad fluorescent lighting and drags his kids to Costco on the weekends.
